The Bachelor of Accounting at Southern Institute of Technology (SIT) is a three-year, full-time programme (part-time study is also available) designed to prepare students with the knowledge, technical, and professional skills for a range of accounting roles in various industries. The programme emphasizes ethical, socially responsible, and sustainable application of accounting knowledge and is aligned with Ngā Kaupapa o te Tiriti o Waitangi. Graduates can operate in accounting-related roles at both operational and strategic levels, and the qualification is fully accredited by Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand (CA ANZ) and CPA Australia. The programme offers flexible HyFlex learning, with some compulsory in-person assessments for certain courses.

What you need to know first
NCEA Level 3 including 14 credits in each of three approved subjects, plus literacy (10 credits at Level 2 or above, 5 reading, 5 writing) and numeracy (10 credits at Level 1 or above).
Equivalent university entrance qualification, or successful completion of an approved Level 4 or above qualification.
Special admission may be granted to applicants aged 20+ who do not meet formal requirements but can demonstrate preparedness.
All applicants must provide evidence of required language literacy proficiency.
International: IELTS 6.0 (academic) with no band below 5.5, or equivalent.
