The New Zealand Diploma in Business (Level 5), Accounting Strand, at Toi Ohomai equips students with practical accounting skills using real-life situations. The programme covers financial transaction processing, applying accounting concepts, preparing financial statements and budgets, monitoring business performance, making financial decisions, and applying tax rules for small businesses and individuals. It also covers financial risk evaluation and the Code of Ethics. This course provides a pathway to a Bachelor of Accounting, and ultimately to chartered accountancy. It is delivered through a blend of on-campus tutorials, online activities, and self-directed learning.
What you need to know first
Be at least 16 years of age on the date the course starts
Have NCEA Level 2 including 8 literacy credits at Level 2 or above or equivalent
