Work collaboratively with members of a multi-disciplinary team and the whānau and family of a person with complex needs to support their health and wellbeing.

The Apprenticeship in Advanced Care and Support (Level 4) is delivered with strong pastoral support and is suitable for experienced support workers, healthcare assistants, and team leaders who wish to gain advanced skills to support people with complex needs. The apprenticeship covers person-centred or relationship-centred care, leadership skills, and supporting health professionals by carrying out delegated clinical tasks. Learners choose from seven focus areas to tailor their programme. This on-job learning path is supported by Careerforce Apprenticeship Advisors and the online Aka Toi platform, leading to a nationally recognised Level 4 qualification.

This is a mix of online learning & face-to-face sessions
Workplace-based / Employer’s location, Nationwide
It will take a total of 21 months
Carry out delegated clinical tasks in a health or wellbeing setting under the direction and delegation of a registered health professional.

Apply knowledge of health or wellbeing conditions and organisational processes to provide culturally appropriate care for and support a person with complex needs.
Equivalent qualification; or
Related work experience in health and wellbeing sectors
Currently employed in an aged care, home & community support, or hospital setting
Employer support for enrolment
