Core skills this course teaches
Workplace experience
Complete a supervised work placement to gain real-world exposure and experience in the salon industry.
Gain practical salon skills
Develop foundational technical and professional skills applicable to salon environments such as hairdressing, barbering, and makeup.
Preparation for further study
Collect evidence and complete requirements to progress toward formal qualifications such as NZ Certificates in Hairdressing, Barbering, or Makeup.
What You're Signing Up For
The Gateway Course at Servilles Academy offers secondary school students an introduction to the world of salon services through a combination of academy-delivered training and a supervised work placement. Students will develop relevant knowledge and practical skills needed for the salon workplace, gain insight into the hairdressing, barbering, and makeup industries, and prepare for further study towards formal qualifications.
