Biology
A course by
AUT
Study the Biological Science major in the Bachelor of Science at AUT and develop expertise in microbiology, biodiversity, molecular biology, gene technology, and the ecological and evolutionary processes driving biological variation.
In-person study
Face-to-face learning in a physical classroom setting
City Campus, Auckland
It will take a total of 3 years

Understand key areas of biology including microbiology, molecular biology, biodiversity, evolution, and ecology.

Analyse human health, industry, agriculture, and environmental issues from a biological perspective, focusing on problems relevant to Aotearoa New Zealand and the Pacific.

This major provides a holistic education in biology, from microorganisms to ecosystems. Students gain knowledge in microbiology, biodiversity, molecular and gene biology, and ecological/evolutionary processes. The programme includes project work and addresses issues relevant to Aotearoa New Zealand and the Pacific. Students are prepared for careers in environmental and human health, biotechnology, conservation, and research, with flexibility to tailor the degree through a second major, minors, or electives.
What you need to know first
