This four-year, full-time apprenticeship programme trains you in carpentry with the goal of becoming a qualified carpenter. Most learning occurs on building sites under the supervision of Licensed Building Practitioners, with regular workplace assessment and support from experienced, qualified staff. Day-release courses at campus deliver further classroom and practical learning. Students use the Otago Polytechnic app to record work evidence. Completing this qualification enables graduates to pursue employment in the construction industry in various carpenter roles or progress into related further study.
