Designed for secondary school learners, it enables completion of nationally recognised credits and builds a foundation for further study or employment in infrastructure construction.

Face-to-face learning in a physical classroom setting

It will take a total of 6 months
This course requires 12 hours per week

Participants will be able to participate effectively in a team or group to achieve objectives on an infrastructure works site.

Demonstrate knowledge and application of effective time management in a workplace setting.

Apply communication skills specific to infrastructure works sites to ensure safety and productivity.
The UCOL Academy 2 Day New Zealand Certificate in Infrastructure Works Level 2 programme is designed for secondary school learners to explore careers in infrastructure such as wastewater, stormwater, electricity and road networks. Over approximately a year, students complete 41 credits through a combination of theory and practical units covering workplace participation, time management, communication on site, health and safety, emergency response, use and maintenance of hand and small machinery tools, and safe work practices. Delivery occurs two days a week across multiple campuses with the aim to develop foundational skills for infrastructure construction and maintenance works.
