What You're Signing Up For
The Bachelor of Creative Media at UCOL is a three-year, Level 7 degree designed to prepare aspiring creatives for dynamic careers in visual culture and creative industries. Students combine wide-ranging digital technologies and arts in areas such as graphic design, illustration, photography, video, and 3D modelling. The program features innovative, project-based learning, real client interactions through a work-integrated 'Workhub', and opportunities to specialise in chosen media. Graduates are industry-ready with both technical and conceptual skills, business awareness, and a professional portfolio, suitable for roles in photography, design, video production, and more.

- Visual Language: Fundamentals of composition, gestalt principles, colour theory
- Digital Technologies: Application of processes and techniques in digital media
- Creative Media: Design, photography, video/filmmaking, illustration, 3D/animation
- Contextual Studies: Theories and issues in contemporary creative media
- Creative Media Workshops: Hands-on skill development in chosen specialisations
- Critical Studies: Research methodologies, cultural/historical influences, industry trends
- Industry Practice: Business and marketing for creative industries, 80 hours of work experience
- Work-integrated Learning: 380 hours of work experience (includes 120 hours in year three)
- Professional Portfolio and Exhibition: Portfolio development, final graduate exhibition
