Work under supervision, following the Electricity Act 1992 and any subsequent amendments, ensuring compliance with industry practice.

The New Zealand Certificate in Electrical Pre-Trade (Level 3) equips students with fundamental electrical knowledge and practical skills with a focus on a range of practical tasks and projects. Graduates will be able to apply these skills under supervision by a licensed electrical worker in accordance with legislation and industry standards. The programme is designed as a pathway to further training or entry-level roles in the electrical sector.
What you need to know first
Applicants must have NCEA Level 1 with Literacy and Numeracy, or equivalent knowledge and skills.
Preferred: At least 16 years of age and NCEA Level 2 with Literacy and Numeracy, or equivalent knowledge and skills.
