In-person study
Face-to-face learning in a physical classroom setting

Students will gain a practical understanding of the basic concepts of electricity as applied in the electrical trades.

Students will learn and practice the fundamental skills associated with electrical wiring.

Students will understand essential safety rules and behaviors required in an electrical trades workshop.
The Electrical Taster course provides secondary school students with the opportunity to experience foundational skills and knowledge in electrical engineering. Led by electrical tutors, students will participate in basic practices and principles of electricity by undertaking wiring fundamentals and safety activities in a workshop environment, giving an authentic preview of electrical study.
What you need to know first
At least Year 11 at secondary school
Minimum age 15 for trades workshop entry due to health and safety
