Use weather maps and data to assess and manage risk during outdoor activities.
This short course examines common aspects of risk in conservation-based activities. It equips students with the ability to appraise risk and determine actions to maintain safety during individual or group conservation tasks. The course covers risk management principles, weather interpretation, and job safety analysis, preparing participants for field scenarios in conservation work.
What you need to know first
If under 20 years old: Achieved NCEA Level 2 (credits in Numeracy, Science, or English desirable)
If 20 years or over: No minimum academic requirements
