Understand and apply ecological concepts and conservation management planning to support restoration projects and sound conservation outcomes.

The New Zealand Certificate in Conservation (Operations) (Level 4) equips learners with the skills and knowledge required for operational conservation work. Students develop technical and practical abilities in environmental stewardship, ecology, risk management, communication, and understanding mātauranga Māori, with a focus on working respectfully with Te Tiriti o Waitangi, local iwi, and hapū. Delivery includes on-campus and workplace-based practical learning.
