This 15 credit course covers the concepts and management systems involved in the nutrition, breeding, reproduction and healthy development of dairy cattle. It addresses factors that influence performance and milk quality, pasture and supplement feed planning, mating program evaluation, health control strategies, and the environmental and animal welfare responsibilities of the dairy industry. Some campus attendance is required for practical activities.
