Participants will be able to prune grapevines effectively for wine production, applying core industry methods.

Participants will understand and apply best practices in maintaining equipment used for grapevine pruning.

Participants will learn and follow essential health and safety practices necessary for working in a vineyard environment.
This short course delivers practical knowledge on commercial grapevine pruning, training, and vineyard safety. Held at Otago Polytechnic's Central Campus Vineyard, students gain skills with a focus on vine balance and maintenance of equipment, and learn essential health and safety techniques for vineyard environments.
