Learn how to communicate clearly using a range of media, develop focused study skills for educational and career pathways, and build the ability to collaborate in learning environments.

The Health Bridging Certificate (Level 3 and 4) is designed for those who do not meet the academic entry requirements for diploma- or degree-level healthcare programmes. It provides supportive, blended study in communication, biosciences, mathematics for health, and preparation for a range of health careers. Courses are delivered on campus in Dunedin or online with some compulsory block courses in Dunedin or Wellington. Successful graduates gain confidence, study skills, relevant foundational knowledge and may meet the academic entry requirements for progression to higher-level health-related programmes.
Entry Requirements
Open entry for Level 3. International students are individually assessed.
Level 4 direct entry: NZ Certificate in Study and Career Preparation (Level 3) or equivalent.

Acquire underpinning knowledge of chemistry, cell biology, human anatomy and physiology within a healthy environment, and understand the structure and function of major body systems.

Develop essential numeracy and statistical knowledge relevant for health professionals, and apply these skills in practical health scenarios.
Access to the internet is required.
English: NZ University Entrance OR Academic IELTS 5.0 (no band lower than 5.0); Level 4 direct entry: IELTS 5.5 (no band lower than 5.0).
