Students will be able to identify the main components and significance of the mahika kai calendar.

Students will understand and articulate historical and modern changes in mahika kai practices.
In this course, students are introduced to mahika kai, covering its historical and contemporary content in te ao Māori. The course develops understanding and application of Mātauranga Māori through Mahika Kai practices, including use of a Mahika Kai calendar to explore how natural resources are cared for and utilized.
