If you have a personal or professional interest in te reo Māori and would like to contribute positively to the development the Māori language, this is the start you need. You’ll develop language skills to communicate, with little support, in familiar contexts and some Māori environments. You’ll learn and practice aspects of hui whakatau (gatherings), mihimihi (acknowledgments and introductions), and discuss traditional narratives. Delivery combines classroom and marae-based experiences to ensure meaningful engagement with local Māori communities.
