Students will be able to read and understand moderately complex written academic texts and produce crafted written responses using researched material.

Students will listen to and comprehend the main ideas and supporting details of moderately complex oral academic texts, and make effective oral presentations.

The New Zealand Certificate in English Language (Academic) (Level 4) prepares students to effectively participate in further academic study and pursue career opportunities where a moderate proficiency in English is required. The programme develops the ability to understand and produce moderately complex academic texts, participate in group discussions, and make presentations. Students also build critical interpersonal and intercultural communication skills for studying and working in Aotearoa New Zealand.
