Write detailed, well-developed, and moderately complex academic texts on familiar topics.

Understand the main ideas and key supporting details of moderately complex spoken and written information on familiar topics.

Take part effectively in sustained, spoken, academic conversations.
This certificate is aimed at intermediate level English learners seeking to improve their language skills in an academic context. Students will learn from experienced teachers, practise speaking in small groups, engage with native speakers and guest lecturers, and build strong study skills through guided and self-directed learning. The programme is nationally recognised and provides pathways to higher English language qualifications and other tertiary study.
What you need to know first
New Zealand Certificate in English Language (General) (Level 3) or equivalent.
Students will be tested and placed at the appropriate level upon arrival, even with an English proficiency assessment such as IELTS.
