Graduates can use English with independence, fluency, and flexibility in both familiar and some less familiar academic situations.

Graduates acquire language skills required for further English language studies or to access destination academic subjects.

Graduates demonstrate English language competence at a level comparable to the Common European Framework of Reference (CEFR) mid B2.
The New Zealand Certificate in English Language (Academic) (Level 4) provides students with the knowledge and skills in academic English needed for further study or use in academic and professional contexts. Graduates will be able to understand and communicate complex ideas and information in English, and demonstrate competence for further tertiary study or employment.
