Convey Māori perspectives, including connections to land, environment, people, and history, showing an advanced understanding of tikanga and Māori worldview.
This diploma programme provides an immersive environment to further develop te reo Māori proficiency, focusing on grammar, conversation, dialects, and cultural context. Students enhance their language skills through face-to-face classes and weekend immersions, with an emphasis on using te reo Māori as their principal means of communication. The programme also covers tikanga (customs), Māori perspectives, and research skills, enabling graduates to use advanced sentence structures, participate in meaningful conversations, and contribute to the revitalisation of te reo Māori.
