Students will be able to comprehend the main ideas in complex spoken English involving extended conversation.

Graduates can communicate information, ideas, and thoughts fluently in extended spoken English.

Learners will use communication skills to confidently engage in discussions in academic and professional contexts.
This 19-week blended programme supports advanced-level learners to develop their reading, writing, listening, and speaking skills in English for academic and professional contexts. Graduates will gain the ability to communicate complex ideas with fluency, read and write academic texts, and engage confidently in discussions. Completion meets English requirements for entry to UCOL's Bachelor of Nursing, postgraduate certificates and diplomas, honours, and higher degrees, and is equivalent to an IELTS 6.5.
What you need to know first
New Zealand Certificate in English Language (Level 4) (Academic) OR equivalent skills and knowledge, such as IELTS 6.0 (single report form). Diagnostic test may be used for placement for students in New Zealand.
