This programme is for advanced learners who wish to study English for academic purposes. Students improve their proficiency in reading, writing, listening, and speaking at Level 5, focusing on lengthy, complex, and academic texts, as well as advanced vocabulary and grammar. The programme combines in-person and online learning. Graduates will be able to communicate information, ideas, and arguments fluently and participate confidently in academic and professional contexts. Completion meets English language requirements for higher-level tertiary education, such as bachelor's, honours, postgraduate, and master's degrees.
What you need to know first
New Zealand Certificate in English Language (Level 4) (Academic) or equivalent skills and knowledge (such as IELTS 6.0, no band less than 6.0, on a single IELTS Test Report Form).

Understand complex spoken conversations relevant to academic or professional settings, including various accents and idiomatic expressions.
Successful completion of a relevant diagnostic test may be required for placement.
