This course requires 2 hours per week

Learners will be able to confidently use common greetings and farewells in Te Reo Māori.

Learners will acquire the ability to count and use numbers appropriately in conversation.

Students will practice asking others and responding about how they are in Te Reo Māori.
Te Reo Māori for Beginners is designed to introduce learners to the basics of the Māori language in a relaxed, conversational style. The course covers greetings, farewells, numbers, asking and saying how you are, basic mihimihi, pronunciation, and understanding the rules for visiting Marae. Classes are part-time over 9-10 weeks, with in-person sessions at multiple campuses. The course offers open entry and is particularly suitable for those new to Te Reo Māori.
