The Te Reo Māori Intermediate course is designed for learners with a basic understanding of te reo Māori who want to further develop their confidence, fluency, and cultural awareness. You will strengthen your sentence structures, expand your vocabulary, learn to express yourself more naturally in daily conversation, and gain insight into Māori customs and protocols, both traditional and contemporary. The course offers a relaxed, supportive environment with practical opportunities for real-life application, helping you take the next step in your te reo Māori journey.
What you need to know first
Basic knowledge of Te Reo Māori.
Completion of 'Te Reo Māori for Beginners' or equivalent, OR successful assessment (aromatawai ā-waha, kanohi ki te kanohi) with the programme lecturer/leader.

This course requires 2 hours per week

Gain practical experience and the ability to use te reo Māori naturally in a range of settings.
English language proficiency equivalent to IELTS 5.5 (no band less than 5) if English is not your first language.

In-person study
