What You're Signing Up For
The Diploma in Languages (DipLang) at Victoria University of Wellington enables students to develop intermediate to advanced skills in one or more languages, as well as practical cross-cultural communication awareness. The programme is flexible and can be studied alongside another qualification or on its own. Students can choose among a range of languages offered by the university, including te reo Māori and several global languages. The qualification is designed for students wanting to demonstrate strong language proficiency and cultural understanding, which are valued skills in many professional fields.
Course Content
- Study of one or more languages offered at Victoria University of Wellington
- Courses at 100-level for beginners or higher for those with prior knowledge
- Development of language competency to at least intermediate in two languages or upper intermediate in one language
- Practical cross-cultural communication and awareness
- Assessment through assignments, quizzes, in-class tests, and presentations
- Optional cultural studies as part of the language programme
