Strengthen your skills in te reo Māori to an intermediate level and learn to communicate confidently in a variety of everyday, community, and workplace settings. Study listening, speaking, reading, and writing through compulsory courses designed to help you contribute to the maintenance and development of te reo.
In-person study
Face-to-face learning in a physical classroom setting
It will take a total of 18 weeks

Students will build their te reo Māori listening, speaking, reading, and writing to an intermediate level.

Graduates will confidently communicate with some independence in everyday settings such as whānau, marae, workplace, and community.

Contribute to the use and revitalisation of te reo among whānau, hapū, iwi, and community.
The New Zealand Certificate in Te Reo (Rumaki Reo Rua) (Level 3) helps learners build a solid foundation in te reo Māori, focusing on intermediate-level language use across different environments, such as family, community, marae, workplace, and academic settings. The programme is delivered primarily in English and includes four compulsory modules focusing on key aspects of communication in te reo Māori.

New Zealand Certificate in Te Reo (Rumaki Reo Rua) (Level 2) or equivalent
Suitable for school leavers.
