This practical, hands-on course provides students with a solid foundation in automotive engineering, starting from the basics and building up a full range of skills needed to service and repair vehicles. The course covers engine disassembly and assembly, servicing of engine, transmission and driveline systems, brakes, steering, suspension and electrical systems, including electronic controls and high voltage safety. Students also learn welding and other workshop engineering tasks. Delivered through integrated, project-based training with qualified tutors, this programme is ideal for those aiming to enter the automotive industry.

10 credits in each of literacy and numeracy at NCEA Level 1, OR ability to demonstrate suitable knowledge and skills
