Graduates are eligible to apply and sit the national nursing exam for registration. Training emphasises safe, reflective, and culturally competent practice in partnership with patients and the health care team.

It will take a total of 18 months

Establish, maintain, and conclude effective therapeutic interpersonal relationships with patients and whānau.
NCEA Level 2 with 12 credits in Level 1 Mathematics OR New Zealand Certificate in Study and Career Preparation (Level 3)
Physically able to complete programme-specific outcomes
Ability to read, write and communicate in English at a basic level
Good character and personal attributes with supporting referee reports
Current First Aid Certificate at start of programme
Evidence of immune status/vaccinations as required by health workplaces
Police check (vetting) clearance required
Personal statement outlining motivation for nursing
