Be eligible to apply for registration with the Nursing Council of New Zealand as an Enrolled Nurse, and to sit the NCNZ Registration Exam.

Provide nursing care and health education across a range of healthcare settings under the direction of a Registered Nurse.

Demonstrate ability to work collaboratively with health consumers, whānau, and multidisciplinary teams in the delivery of care.
This programme equips you with the skills and knowledge to become an Enrolled Nurse in Aotearoa New Zealand. You'll study nursing, social sciences, and human body function, and benefit from modern teaching facilities and clinical placements under the direction of registered health professionals. Graduates will be eligible to sit the NCNZ Registration Exam and apply for a practicing certificate. The programme is delivered full-time on campus over 18 months, including clinical experience both in Dunedin and the wider Otago/Southland region. The qualification provides a pathway to further study in health-related fields including the Bachelor of Nursing.
What you need to know first
NCEA Level 2 including 12 credits in Level 1 Mathematics, or equivalent secondary school qualification for international students.

Level 2 Comprehensive First Aid Certificate (unit standards 6400, 6401, 6402 valid at least for the first semester).
Health declaration and police vetting.
Two referee reports and CV.
May require interview.
Meet Health Authority requirements for clinical placement (vaccinations, health clearance, etc.).
