The Bachelor of Nursing at Wintec is designed for students who wish to become registered nurses. Graduates are eligible to sit the Nursing Council of New Zealand registration exam and enter professional nursing roles in hospitals, community, mental health, and more. University Entrance (UE) or equivalent, including NCEA Level 3: 14 credits in Biology, Chemistry, Physics, or Science; 14 credits in English-rich subject; 14 credits in another approved subject.
Numeracy: 10 credits at Level 1 or above.
Literacy: 10 credits at Level 2 or above (5 in reading and 5 in writing).
Approved foundation, bridging, or tertiary programme in Health at Level 4 (if applicable).
Special Admission possible for domestic candidates aged 20+ with suitable skills, education, or experience.
Comprehensive First Aid Certificate (NZQA 6400, 6401, 6402) before clinical placement.
Health screening and immunisation status assessment.
Safety checks as per Vulnerable Children Act (interview, police vet, etc.).
English language requirements for non-native speakers: IELTS 6.5 (all bands) or equivalent.
