Develop an understanding of the social, economic, cultural, educational, environmental, and other factors affecting health at individual and community levels.

Demonstrate knowledge of the key elements of public health with an emphasis on community health and development.

Gain foundational knowledge in public health policy and systems at local, national, and international levels.
AUT's Postgraduate Certificate in Public Health addresses the social, economic, and other factors that shape individual and community health and wellbeing. The programme has a strong focus on community health development and is designed for those passionate about promoting health, tackling health inequities, or advancing community wellbeing. Over two semesters, students gain foundational knowledge of public health, social epidemiology, policy and systems, and Māori health development.
What you need to know first
Relevant bachelor's degree or graduate diploma
Alternative entry by relevant professional qualification or professional experience approved as equivalent
International students: IELTS (Academic) 6.5 overall with no band less than 6.0
