It will take a total of 20 weeks
This course requires 7 hours per week

Be able to serve as a health literacy coach in the area of prediabetes and type 2 diabetes.

Work respectfully with community members to identify and reduce diabetes risks.

Identify the factors that positively and negatively affect diabetes risk within New Zealand Aotearoa communities.
The Stay Well to Stay Strong Microcredential (Level 3) is designed for those passionate about improving the wellness of their community. This 20-week programme teaches students to raise awareness about the risk of type 2 diabetes, work with community members to identify and reduce diabetes risks, and serve as a health literacy coach. The course develops skills relevant for further study in community, health, and wellbeing areas.
What you need to know first
NCEA Level 1 (including Literacy 10 credits and Numeracy 10 credits at Level 1) OR equivalent academic achievement OR at the discretion of the Executive Dean.
Declare any previous criminal convictions before admission (decision at Academic Leader's discretion).
