Students will develop the ability to communicate effectively in English, boost confidence in speaking, listening, reading and writing.

Students will gain basic maths skills relevant to everyday life and employment contexts.

Students will learn basic computer skills to navigate digital devices and software needed for work and study.
This 300-hour course improves communication, maths and digital literacy skills, targeting new residents, refugees and others seeking confidence in English, maths, and basic computer skills. It includes developing cognitive and critical thinking skills, collaboration, and teamwork, supporting learners to participate meaningfully in their communities and progress to higher education levels. The programme is free for eligible New Zealand citizens or residents aged 16+, delivered at Royal Oak and Manukau campuses, with a blended approach of face to face classes and self-study.
