Blended study
This is a mix of online learning & face-to-face sessions
It will take a total of 21 months

Engage and communicate with people, family and/or whānau accessing social and community services in a manner which respects their socio-cultural identity, experiences, and self-knowledge.

Develop relationships and support a goal of improving outcomes for people accessing services.

Demonstrate knowledge of Te Tiriti o Waitangi when providing support in your role.
This apprenticeship equips experienced staff in social services roles to engage with and assist people, families, and communities. Learners develop skills in communication, reflective practice, and cultural understanding, supporting autonomy and resilience in others. Workplace learning is supported by advisors and online resources, leading to a nationally-recognised qualification at NZQA Level 4.

Must be currently employed in a social services role (e.g. family violence support worker, welfare worker, refugee support worker)
