Graduates will be able to apply Māori values and evaluate their implementation when supporting tangata whai ora in health or wellbeing contexts.

Demonstrate and embed Mana Taiohi youth work principles to support and enhance the mana of young people.
The New Zealand Certificate in Youth Leadership (Level 3) is designed for those starting out in the youth work sector, or current workers seeking official recognition of their workplace skills. The programme is industry-led, delivered via on-job training and assessment of practical competencies relevant across health, social services, and youth work. Topics include Māori values, Mana Taiohi principles, professional ethics, human development, group leadership, youth profiles in Aotearoa, and essential skills for working with young people in a bi-cultural context. Graduates are equipped to plan, deliver, and evaluate projects aligned to youth development.
