Face-to-face learning in a physical classroom setting
It will take a total of 35 weeks

Recognise and apply Māori values, evaluating their effectiveness in supporting young people (tangata whai ora) in health and wellbeing settings.

Apply Mana Taiohi principles to enhance the mana of youth in professional practice.

Understand and adhere to standards of professionalism and ethics in health or wellbeing settings.
The New Zealand Certificate in Youth Leadership (Level 3) is targeted at those entering or considering a career in the youth work sector, including current youth workers seeking formal recognition of their competencies. The programme develops skills in applying Māori values and Mana Taiohi principles, knowledge of professional and ethical behaviours, understanding human development theory, youth profiling, project delivery and evaluation, group work, and bi-cultural approaches. Graduates gain practical experience and are equipped for key youth development roles.
