This 17-week certificate programme is designed to enable students to provide care and support for people of all ages in health and community settings, including hospitals, residential facilities, and community providers. The course cultivates compassion and foundational knowledge for roles such as care associate or community support staff and opens pathways for further study in health and social services.

Police vetting required for those not currently in the industry (except Monday-only Hawke’s Bay group)
Some workplaces/providers may require vaccination for practical work experience
English language fluency (IELTS 5.0 no band lower than 5.0, NZ Certificate in English Language Level 3, or equivalent)
Attendance at an information session compulsory for those who do not meet entry criteria
Alternative entry assessment for applicants without formal qualifications
