This programme is your first step towards a career in social work, health or counselling. It provides foundational skills in English language and mathematics to support further study or employment in these fields. Delivered over 17 weeks full-time or 1 year part-time, it offers a supportive learning environment fostering confidence and independence. On completion, graduates can progress to higher level health and social service qualifications.
What you need to know first
Open entry for domestic students; no academic requirements.
International students must meet English language proficiency requirements: IELTS General or Academic score of 5 with no band score lower than 5 or equivalent. (Refer to NZQA for details).
