This programme educates students to become effective social service professionals, with graduates gaining strong self-awareness, cultural competency, and communication skills. The Bachelor of Social Services covers foundational theory and practical tools, leading into a chosen specialty—Counselling or Health and Wellbeing Practice. Students complete academic coursework and industry placements to build real-world experience, and upon graduating may be eligible for professional association membership in their specialty.

Understand and apply Te Tiriti o Waitangi principles and work effectively with clients from diverse cultures in Aotearoa New Zealand.
NCEA Level 3 including: 14 credits at Level 3 or above in each of three approved university entrance subjects
10 Literacy credits at Level 2 or above (5 reading, 5 writing)
10 Numeracy credits at Level 1 or above (specified standards)
