It is designed for those aiming to become competent professionals in these dynamic industries. Optional contextualisation in rugby or AFL allows tailored learning experiences. Graduates gain credit towards degree level study and develop competencies in structural kinesiology, coaching pedagogy, sport sociology, sports business, human anatomy and physiology, exercise prescription, healthy lifestyles and biomechanics. The programme includes practical work experience and industry partnership opportunities, such as working with Counties Manukau Rugby Union. Entry is open with some safety and language requirements. This qualification leads to careers such as personal trainer, recreation programmer, coach, sports administrator, and health educator.
