Understand and apply safety protocols and ethical standards in gym and recreational settings.

Carry out fundamental exercise activities and understand technical principles related to fitness.

Recognise and manage safety hazards and ethical challenges within sport and recreation sectors.
The NZ Certificate in Sport, Recreation & Exercise (Multi-sector) (Level 3) is designed for individuals seeking activities-oriented roles or to begin studies in sport, recreation or health sciences. Students gain ethical, professional and technical skills in gym and recreational settings, learn to identify hazards, understand wellbeing benefits, plan and run community sports events, and communicate effectively across diverse groups. Completion allows work in various support roles such as exercise assistant and school sport coordinator.
