The New Zealand Certificate in Sport Coaching (Level 3) (Sports Training and Development) is designed for those wishing to pursue development in sports coaching, either as entry-level or volunteer coaches. The programme provides foundational theory and applied skills in coaching, exercise prescription, sports conditioning, nutrition, and injury prevention, and equips graduates for community and school sport coaching or as a platform for further study.

It will take a total of 3 months
Describe the movement of anatomical structures during exercise and understand physiological responses and adaptations to exercise.

Demonstrate knowledge of pre-designed exercise programmes, exercise principles, components, and strategies for engagement and adherence.
Mature applicants (20+) may be admitted based on related work experience or prior study
Access to a sports team or group (3+ people) for practical coaching components
Recommended: First Aid training
If working with under-18s, a police safety check as required by the (Vulnerable) Children's Act 2014
