Satisfy the Teaching Council of Aotearoa New Zealand's Standards for the Teaching Profession, including ethical practice, learner wellbeing and both classroom and professional behaviour.
Official academic transcripts (or evidence of current enrolment and completed courses)
If overseas qualification: NZQA assessment may be required
Initial Teacher Education (ITE) Programme entry form
Successful completion of literacy and numeracy assessment
Meet Teaching Council English language competency requirement
Face-to-face or online interview
Meet 'good character and fitness' criteria as per Teaching Council policy
Police vetting (NZ and overseas if applicable)
Satisfactory references
Meet safety check under the Children's Act 2014
