The Bachelor of Education (Teaching) Huarahi Māori is tailored for those proficient in te reo Māori. The programme develops knowledge of education, immersion in the Māori curriculum (Te Marautanga o Aotearoa), and practical teaching skills. Core areas include te reo matatini (literacy), pāngarau (numeracy), tikanga Māori, mātauranga Māori, Māori pedagogy, and second language acquisition. Students gain practical classroom experience (noho ā kura) in various settings and are supported through a whānau environment and dedicated academic services.
