The Graduate Diploma of Teaching (Early Childhood Education) at Victoria University of Wellington is an intensive, 10-month, full-time programme designed for those passionate about working with young children and supporting their early development. The programme emphasizes Te Whāriki, New Zealand’s early childhood curriculum, and includes three professional practice placements in early childhood centers. Students will strengthen their knowledge of Te Tiriti o Waitangi, practice using te reo Māori, and benefit from both academic and peer support. Graduates are eligible to teach in early childhood centers across New Zealand and to apply for provisional teacher registration with the Teaching Council of Aotearoa New Zealand.
