What You're Signing Up For
Te Pitau a Manaia | NZ Diploma in Ngā Toi (Level 5) is a one-year programme rooted in Māori visual arts, taught by some of Aotearoa New Zealand’s premier Māori artists. The course offers a kaupapa and wānanga learning environment where Te Ao Māori is interwoven throughout, fostering creative self-expression, cultural authenticity, and technical skill in various art forms. Graduates can pursue careers as art professionals or progress to further study including bachelor's and honours degrees in Māori Visual Arts and Creative Practice.

- Wānanga-based and marae-based learning
- Māori art disciplines (with option to specialise)
- Te Ao Māori integration in art practice
- Creation and exhibition of artworks (local, national, international)
- Restoration and conservation of Māori arts
- Development of art and design skills unique to hapū, iwi, and waka
- Te reo Māori me ngā tikanga as foundation of practice
