This course requires 2 hours per week

Gain hands-on experience with acrylic painting materials and techniques.

Experiment with mark-making, using painterly approaches to foster individual artistic style.

Participate in lessons with changing themes to expand artistic versatility.
The Painting Night Class at Otago Polytechnic explores the material language of acrylic paint, with an emphasis on mark-making through painterly experimentation and play. Each lesson introduces a different theme, and students are encouraged to develop technique and creativity, regardless of experience level. Classes run on Tuesday evenings for eight weeks per term. Students can enrol for one term at a time, and may repeat the class for continued skill development with guidance from an experienced tutor.
What you need to know first
Students must be older than 16 years of age.
