A practical course in printmaking techniques for beginners and advanced learners, offering hands-on experience in a communal art workshop environment. Delivered as a weekly class at the Dunedin School of Art.
In-person study
Face-to-face learning in a physical classroom setting

It will take a total of 8 weeks
This course requires 2 hours per week

Learners will become familiar with core printmaking techniques and materials, and refine their ability to use them effectively.

Learners will understand how material and technical decisions inform artistic intention in printmaking.

Learners will plan, develop, and produce original artwork using printmaking methods.
The Printmaking class teaches a process-based approach to making art, covering technical aspects of printmaking. It explores how the processes and functions inform artistic strategy and how the medium or technique serves as a means to realise creative ideas. The class supports both beginners and experienced printmakers, with facilitated, self-directed options. Students will learn individually or as a group as required and benefit from the communal workshop structure.
What you need to know first
Suitable for both beginners and those with previous printmaking experience. Learners under 16 require parental consent.
