The Bachelor of Health Science (Physiotherapy) at AUT is one of the largest physiotherapy programmes in the Southern Hemisphere, renowned for its comprehensive training and industry recognition. The programme prepares graduates for registration and practice as physiotherapists through a blend of academic coursework and approximately 1,000 hours of clinical experience. Students develop a deep understanding of human body systems, physiotherapy interventions, and professional practice, and are equipped to work in a wide range of settings including private practice, hospitals, and the community. The degree spans four years, offering study in anatomy, health conditions, exercise physiology, neurology, musculoskeletal practice, rehabilitation, research, and professional ethics.
