Develop and demonstrate evidence-based practice, critical thinking, and ethical decision-making to become an effective podiatrist.

Complete hands-on clinical placements in hospitals, private practices, and AUT’s on-campus podiatry clinic, gaining exposure to a variety of patient caseloads.
AUT's Bachelor of Health Science (Podiatry) develops your skills and clinical reasoning to work as a podiatrist in Aotearoa and internationally. You will explore prevention, diagnosis, treatment, and rehabilitation of lower limb and foot conditions. The programme includes significant clinical placements in hospitals, private practices, and AUT’s own clinics, and features hands-on training, including minor surgical procedures, in purpose-built facilities. Graduates are eligible to register as podiatrists in New Zealand and can practise overseas.

Face-to-face learning in a physical classroom setting
North Campus, Auckland
It will take a total of 3 years

Gain the skills to prevent, diagnose, treat, and rehabilitate common and complex conditions affecting the lower limbs and feet.
Compliance with Health Practitioners Competence Assurance Act (HPCA Act) and Children's Act 2014, including police clearance
IELTS (Academic) 7.0 overall with all bands 6.5 or higher (if English is not your first language or you haven't studied in NZ for at least three years at secondary level)
In-person study
