What You're Signing Up For
This refresher course provides up-to-date knowledge and hands-on practice in drug assisted airway management. It includes online multimedia modules and practical classroom learning covering topics such as pharmacology, DAAM procedures, recognition and troubleshooting of difficult airways, and mechanical ventilation. The programme is delivered by AUT's paramedicine team in partnership with industry, and is specially tailored for practicing intensive care paramedics and those interested in obtaining or renewing their rapid sequence intubation endorsement.

- Pharmacology
- Drug Assisted Airway Management (DAAM) procedures
- Recognition and troubleshooting the difficult airway
- Review of mechanical ventilation
- Skill stations: ventilator troubleshooting, airway assessment, reasoning for RSI/DSI/truncated intubation, cricothyroidotomy, inotropic support
- Clinical simulations

- Compulsory formative MCQ assessment
